The SIMOTICS SD (Severe Duty) series consists of universal low-voltage motors whose rugged cast iron housing suits harsh to very harsh conditions. With outputs from 0.09 kW to 1,000 kW, efficiency classes IE1 – IE4 and shaft heights from 71 to 450 mm, it gives machine builders and plant operators a very wide choice.
Ambient temperatures from -50 °C to +60 °C, protection up to IP66 and paint systems up to offshore grade make the series a fit for cement, chemicals, oil and gas, and pulp and paper. Variants include SD Add with low starting current, SD Pro with premium insulation, and converter-fed synchronous options. The series is now supplied by Innomotics as Innomotics SD.
