The SIMOTICS DP (Definite Purpose) series covers low-voltage motors built with the properties and certificates that particular industries require beyond the standard range. Its main groups are class-approved marine motors from 0.37 to 378 kW for ship auxiliary drives, and cast iron crane motors from 1.1 to 481 kW for the hoist, trolley, boom and gantry motions of harbour cranes.
Roller table and steel plant motors for the steel industry are designed to withstand surge torques of up to 400%. Customer-specific designs for textile machines, compressors or liquid cooling are also possible. The series is now supplied as Innomotics DP.
